Important Update Regarding Medibank Share Offer

Article By Adam Hurwood | | Financial Planning
It has been announced that Medibank is to be privatised from its current government ownership, and will be listed on the Australian Stock Exchange via a sale to the Australian public through an Initial Public Offering (IPO).

As part of the preparation for this offer, Medibank has recently announced a pre-registration program which allows you to register your interest for purchasing shares when the offer is opened. If you would like to consider the offer, it is worthwhile completing the pre-registration as Medibank will automatically provide you with a Prospectus for the offer (either via email or snail mail), and additionally, should you wish to participate in the offer, pre-registration allows you to be allocated more shares than if you do not register.

Pre-registration is not a commitment to purchasing any shares , nor does it require an outlay of any money, it is purely a notice of interest and a method for obtaining the Prospectus once it has been lodged with ASIC. If you do not register, you can still remain eligible to purchase shares when the offer commences.

The pre-registration portal closes Wednesday October 15 and can be accessed via https://www.medibankprivateshareoffer.com.au/residency/
Once the offer has been officially announced and the Prospectus issued, Altitude will then review the details of the IPO to determine any recommendations for our valued clients. Should you have any queries regarding the offer following your receipt of the Prospectus, please contact a member of our Financial Planning Team.
