Successful Leaders

Maximising success and simplifying complexity.

As a Successful Leader, you’ve worked hard to build your career, wealth, and lifestyle. But with success comes complexity.

Between business assets, employee share schemes, a growing super balance, and family responsibilities, you know there’s more you could be doing to maximise your income and protect what you’ve built.

Time is your most limited resource. You want to make confident, informed decisions — about tax, investments, risk management, and lifestyle goals — without wasting hours second-guessing yourself.

At Altitude, we partner with executives and business owners like you to simplify the complex, protect your assets, and give you confidence that every dollar is working as hard as you are.

FAQ’S

Questions & Answers for Successful Leaders.

Got questions? We’ve got you covered. Here are some quick answers to help you with the Successful Leaders Stage.

How can I assess my financial progress with confidence?

It’s natural to question your financial progress. At Altitude, we evaluate your current financial situation and provide a clear understanding of where you stand. By assessing factors like assets, mortgage, and superannuation, we determine if you’re on track to meet your goals. We’ll help you define your desired finish line and make necessary adjustments for a secure financial future.

How should I prioritise my surplus cash flow?

Balancing financial goals requires careful consideration. While repaying your mortgage and building retirement assets are important, we’ll work with you to create a customised strategy. Our experts will help you find the right balance between mortgage repayment, investments, and superannuation contributions, enabling you to achieve multiple goals simultaneously.

My super is one of my biggest assets how do I maximise it?

As your superannuation balance grows, optimising its performance becomes crucial. We assist in maximising returns while managing risk based on your comfort level. We guide you in selecting the best superannuation investment strategy. Whether it’s diversifying your investments, adjusting asset allocation, or exploring different investment vehicles, our goal is to ensure that your superannuation is working hard to generate the returns you need for a comfortable retirement.

I would like to upgrade our home but how will that impact our other goals?

Upgrading or renovating your home is exciting, but it’s essential to consider its impact on your overall financial plan. We analyse your cash flow, repayment timelines, and other goals to determine if the upgrade aligns with your objectives without compromising other financial milestones, such as retirement or investment growth.

Do I need to review my life insurance?

Life insurance needs change over time, and it’s important to review your policies periodically. We evaluate your circumstances and help you assess if your current coverage aligns with your needs and goals. Our goal is to ensure you have adequate protection while optimising the cost-effectiveness of your coverage.

Is a holiday home possible?

Owning a holiday home is an appealing idea. We analyse your financial situation and goals to determine its feasibility. By considering factors like cash flow, repayment timelines, tax effectiveness and the impact on other financial objectives, we provide a comprehensive analysis for you to make an informed decision.

What’s the best investment options, shares, property, or something else?

Your mates might be talking crypto, share trading or flipping properties leaving you feeling like you are missing out. There are always high-risk options or fads that will do well for a period, until they don’t. Investing is about buying real assets that produce income and holding them for a long period of time. It may be boring but investing is about making money so you can have fun and not the other way around. By assessing your risk tolerance and financial goals we can recommend suitable investment strategies. Whether it’s shares, property, or other investment opportunities, we’ll help you develop a diversified portfolio that aligns with your objectives and maximises your long-term wealth accumulation.

Should I use a trust, company, or SMSF?

Choosing investment structures depends on your specific circumstances, financial goals, tax considerations, and asset protection needs. Our advisers can evaluate your circumstances and provide guidance on the most appropriate investment structure for your situation. Whether it’s a trust, company, or self-managed superannuation fund, we’ll explain the benefits and implications of each option. Supporting you to make an informed decision that aligns with your overall financial strategy.

Where should I invest surplus cashflow—personal, partner, or entity?

Deciding where to allocate surplus cashflow isn’t just about returns—it’s about strategy. Should you invest personally, through your partner, or via your business entity? Each option has unique tax implications, asset protection benefits, flexibility for accessing funds, and long-term planning impacts.

Key considerations:

  • Tax efficiency and available concessions
  • Asset protection from personal or business risks
  • Flexibility for withdrawals and reinvestment
  • Alignment with retirement and succession goals

The right approach depends on your circumstances and objectives. At Altitude Advisers, we model the options, quantify tax impacts, and help you choose the structure that maximises wealth and minimises risk.

What are the benefits of year-end tax planning with an accountant?

Year-end tax planning helps you make and implement timely decisions before the financial year closes. Key benefits include:

    • Maximising deductions: Identify eligible expenses and strategies to reduce taxable income and reduce tax payable.
    • Strategic timing: Bring forward or defer income and expenses or the sale of investment assets to optimise your position.
    • Super contributions: Effectively maximise super contributions whilst ensuring contribution caps aren’t exceeded.
  • Division 7A loan management: Ensuring minimum repayments are met by way of cash repayment or declared dividends that consider the shareholders overall tax position.
  • Trust Distributions: Deciding and documenting how to tax effectively distribute the profits of your trust as required prior to 30 June.
  • Managing cash flow: Plan for tax liabilities so there are no surprises.
  • Avoiding costly mistakes: Stay compliant with changing tax rules and super contribution caps.

Every business and individual situation is different, so tailored advice is essential. Speak with an accountant at Altitude Advisers to ensure you’re meeting compliance obligations and making the most of every opportunity before year-end.

Why use a bookkeeper—and what are the benefits?

Managing your books takes time, accuracy, and attention to detail. A professional bookkeeper ensures your records are up-to-date, compliant, and ready for decision-making—so you can focus on growing your business instead of chasing receipts.

Key benefits:

  • Accuracy & compliance: Reduce errors and stay ATO-compliant.
  • Time savings: Free up hours for what matters most—your business.
  • Cashflow clarity: Real-time insights into income, expenses, and profitability.
  • Better decisions: Reliable data for planning and growth.
  • Stress reduction: Avoid last-minute tax-time chaos.
  • Seamless collaboration: Bookkeepers and accountants working together means smoother processes, fewer headaches, and better outcomes for you.

At Altitude Advisers, we partner with trusted bookkeeping professionals to ensure your financial records integrate seamlessly with your accounting and tax strategy. This collaboration gives you peace of mind, better insights, and more time to focus on success.
